{Vlog Tuesday: carving your own stamps}

 [I'm just posting the link because the ustream video player has crashed my browser a few times. So head on over and view it there! Thanks!]

News, Shop Info, & Carving Your Own Rubber Stamps

This week's Points of Two theme is based off the lyrics, "and I think to myself, what a wonderful world." What in your world is wonderful and magical this week? What can you dig out of seemingly ordinary moments?

Also! My Etsy shop opens tomorrow!

I've been working hard to get everything done! Phew! Lots of numbers, and I even made a worksheet to fill out in order to make sure everything is covered! But more on that tomorrow. I'll share the link & a preview vid then!

{vlog tuesday: getting past blocks to create something wonderful!}

A lot of talk on blocks, liking and disliking pages, and creativity. I started a page, but then we got to talking, and I'll post the finished page tomorrow.

Please email me if you have questions or need someone to bounce an idea off of! And leave a comment here if you'd like to see something discussed on the vlog.

Next week: Carving your own stamps.

Get your supplies together and we'll explore stamp-carving!

{vlog tuesday: acrylics, markers, and badly-behaving chat modules!}

This week, I worked on a random loose canvas piece and answered questions. We talked a whole lot about acrylics -- cheap vs. expensive, liquid vs. regular -- and Copic markers and watercolor crayons. Is there something you'd like to learn about? A technique or product you would like to see me demonstrate? Leave me a note in the comments and I'll try my best to make it happen.

Also, no blog post tomorrow, as I'm spending my birthday with friends & family. See you on Friday!

{studio vlog tuesday: a lot of rambling and some real collage work

(if you have problems, go to the host page to view this week's vid)

Also, I've been answering questions over on my formspring. I try to do one a day, but I've got a bit of a backlog....if you've submitted one yet-to-be-answered, it shall be done soon! Anyway, you should check out the page.

Have you signed up for the WISH Journal Workshop yet? Why not? I'll have a preview vid up for you by Thursday. ;)

{let's try this again, with sound}

Since people are getting better results viewing from the actual channel, I shall direct you there.

And I'm using a different computer/camera/mic today, so there will be sound! And actual talking! And a journal being bound. Yes. All in ONE HOUR. Yes, I know I'm amazing.

I'm also going to be announcing my newest online workshop, the WISH Journal Workshop. [here are the shots of the last WISH Journal] This is a project-oriented workshop that has collaging, painting, binding, and fun. It'll have a 15 page PDF file and 3-4 videos hosted on a password-locked blog. Since it's all finished, you'll be able to access the information and videos at your own pace, giving you more time to really learn and play.

Next Monday I'll post a teaser video. And the workshop goes LIVE Monday, February 22, 2010.

The class is $20. You will receive a log-in for the site on Sunday, February 21, 2010, as the content goes live the next day. And if you pay after then? Then you get your log-in within 24 hours. Simple. Easy. And tons of fun!

{studio vlog tuesday: debut!}

Welcome to the first Studio Vlog Tuesday!

People are discovering and creating whole new ways to interact with readers and other artists; this medium, of being able to broadcast journal work LIVE allows you to see a page being created AS I DO IT. No fast motion, no missed minutes. Just an hour of watching me do layers from over my shoulder.

The live feed runs every Tuesday from 4-5pm central time. Afterwards, the recording will be posted here. And on Friday, an edited version will be uploaded to YouTube. All in all, that means more videos for YOU!

Better yet, you can chat LIVE while I'm filming and get questions answered right then and there.

I'm excited to see where this goes. Won't you join me?

NOTE: the sound wasn't working for about the first 15 minutes or so, so go ahead and fast forward past that. Then I'm painting and answering live chat questions as I go!
